Vibra 128 sound card with shielded audio connection to RCA stereo panel sockets
The Vibra 128 sound card was originally purchased to overcome the PC speaker blasts of the ASUS motherboards AC97 on-board sound card used in the previous mp3car system. Since the new Gigabyte motherboard had neither onboard sound/video the Vibra 128 has stayed and performs rather well with the car audio equipment.

The sound card itself has been modified for the task with the removal of the joystick/MIDI port, line in 3.5mm stereo plug and finally a length of twin shielded audio cable has been soldered onto the sound board audio outputs, extending them to the rear panel mounted RCA sockets and eliminating the need for 3.5mm audio connections. Overall the sound is quite good and would recommend the Vibra 128 PCI as a nice soundcard for the mp3car task.
